MAAR, the São Paulo-based branding and design AI agency, came to Odd Global with a tight brief: a 15-second film for Vivo, Brazil’s leading telco with over 103 million mobile subscribers, had been produced in-house for the Vivo Entertainment product. By the time it was ready to air, AI image generation had moved fast enough that the original visuals no longer matched what the technology could deliver. With no time to go back to production, they needed the visuals upgraded to current standards, quickly.
The Challenge
The existing cut was locked. The brief wasn’t to redo the film but to replace its product imagery with versions that felt current, photorealistic, and premium. Entertainment devices, a gaming laptop and headphones, needed to hold up to broadcast scrutiny and match the colour world of the existing edit.
What We Did
We approached it at the image level first. For each take, we generated new stills that matched the framing, lighting direction, and mood of the originals precisely, while pushing material quality to where AI generation now sits: crisp surface textures, accurate reflections, and the kind of photorealism that earlier models couldn’t deliver.
With the new stills approved, we applied motion using current AI animation models and cut a new edit for Vivo Entertainment. The full update was delivered in record time, replacing an obsolete look with a high quality result that matched the pace and quality bar of the final broadcast.
